Terms and Conditions for Interns

Please read the Terms and Conditions of Internship at International STEAM Research (ISR) carefully before submitting your application. By submitting your registration form, you certify that you agree to the following Terms and Conditions:

Documentation

The participant is solely responsible for arranging and paying for their own travel to and from the programme destination, as well as any local transport costs. It is also the responsibility of the participant to obtain and carry all necessary documentation such as Aadhaar Card, Driving Licence etc, when travelling to various programme destinations. While ISR may provide advice and guidance to the participant in regards to the required documentation, ISR is not responsible for the accuracy of its advice or providing or obtaining any supporting documents necessary for the participant such as, medical certificates, entry permits at the programme destination etc. Participants are responsible for ensuring their documents are up to date and valid.

Insurance

ISR does not provide the participant with insurance of any kind.

Programme Fees

Internship programme for candidates recommended by an institution with whom ISR has an MOU signed will be free of any programme fees. Standard internship fees for 1 month is Rs 6,000 plus applicable GST. Fees need to be paid at the ISR office in person once the ISR Intern Manager informs the candidates about their selection status.

Non-recommended participation in an internship program requires full payment of the relevant programme fee as set out on the ISR website at the time when the participant register. ISR reserves the right to revise the program fees at any time and any fee revisions will be made public via the ISR website. Program fee revisions will not apply to participants who have already registered with ISR, unless the participant makes a change to the programme details after the programme fee revisions have taken effect.

Payment of the deposit confirms a participant’s acceptance onto one of ISR’s internship programs, subject to availability.

A participant’s internship placement will not be confirmed until the program fee has been paid in full and availability has been verified by the ISR Programme Manager.

Program fees are not transferable.

Changes

Participants who are unable to commence their internship on the scheduled start date may change to a different programme or start date, subject to availability and the following policy:

Changes may be made free of charge provided the request is processed by ISR more than sixty (60) calendar days prior to the scheduled start date. No changes will be accepted less than sixty (60) days prior to the scheduled start date.

Refunds and Credits

ISR’s program fees are designed to be fairly priced and transparent. Payments cover the support provided by ISR to participants in advance of their programme start date and are non-refundable in any circumstance.

Personal Risks

The participant acknowledges and accepts the responsibilities and risks associated with their choice to travel to, temporarily reside in, and provide participant services in any of the programme destination/institution. Therefore, ISR including any and all of its employees, managers, directors, shareholders, host families and independent local teams, is not liable to any extent of the law, for any loss or harm the participant or associates may suffer, including loss caused directly or indirectly by:

  • Personal injury;
  • Emotional injury;
  • Death;
  • Illness, disease or pandemic;
  • Damage to or loss of property;
  • Natural disasters;
  • Hostage situations; or
  • War or terrorism.
Indemnity

The participant agrees to indemnify and hold harmless ISR and its employees and stakeholders from any and all liability arising directly or indirectly out of, or in connection with, the participant’s travel, temporary residence in their chosen destination, and the undertaking of any programme assigned.

Child Protection Policy

The participant has read the complete child protection policy of ISR and they fully understand and agree to follow all procedures contained within it. If at any time the participant fails to follow the guidelines set forth by the ISR Child Protection Policy, they understand that their participant programme may be terminated by ISR and further appropriate action will be taken. Non-Compete and Non-Disclosure Agreements

All participants agree to sign the Non-Competition and Non-Disclosure agreements and abide by them.

Code of conduct 

Interns are required to comply with the following:

  • Maintain punctuality with the working hours as intimated to them.
  • Follow etiquette, discipline, dress code and norms of decorum as appropriate in an academic and research environment.
  • Uphold a spirit of collaboration and fellow-feeling with all in the organisation.
Miscellaneous

The participant agrees to comply with the programme destination/institution’s code of conduct and waiver. ISR and the programme destination/institution reserves the right to dismiss a participant from the programme at any time without refund, in the event that these Terms and Conditions, or the code of conduct are breached.

In the event of a suspected or potential outbreak of any infectious disease on the internship programme, among close contacts, or in locations recently attended by the participant then the participant agrees to undertake any testing required at their own cost. Should the participant refuse to undertake such testing, ISR is entitled to dismiss the participant from the programme or remove them from the programme at any time without refund, and put in place other measures to protect the health of other participants.

ISR reserves the right to notify the emergency contact appointed by the participant in the event that the participant is dismissed from the program and in other circumstances deemed appropriate by ISR.

ISR reserves the right to use feedback and images provided or shared by participants for all or any promotional purposes like social media, publications etc.

ISR reserves the right to change these Terms and Conditions/Code of Conduct or the services it offers from time to time without notice.

ISR reserves the right to refuse acceptance to any registration.

The participant certifies that all information provided to ISR relating to their personal background, qualifications, experience, medical history, and current state of health is accurate and truthful, and that no information relating to the aforementioned areas is withheld. ISR reserves the right to remove a participant from their programme, without refund or compensation, if it becomes apparent that untruthful or inaccurate information is submitted in their registration form or if relevant information is withheld, or for any other reason by giving notice to the participant.

The participant understands and agrees that ISR Internship programmes are all unpaid engagements irrespective of the programme destination/institution at which he or she is assigned to. Hence, the participant agrees not to claim any payment for their engagement with ISR.
