A holistic approach to developing teachers’ and learners’ capabilities, with learning as an active and proactive process, Heutagogy, which ISR promotes, is an extraordinary form of self-determined learning with practices and principles rooted in pedagogy and andragogy. In a heutagogical approach to teaching and learning, emphasis is placed on development of learner capacities and capabilities through learner autonomy with the goal of producing teachers and learners who are well-prepared for the complexities of future workspaces. With today’s affordance of internet, heutagogy is the way forward, as educators can develop and deliver using new technologies such as social media and various digital plaforms. The term ‘Heutagogy’, originating from the Greek word “self”, was defined by Hase and Kenyon in 2000 as the study of self-determined learning.
ISR offers programmes and courses through institutions and colleges to empower teachers as facilitators with the 21st century skills. Facilitators will be able to promote invention literary, experiential learning and higher order thinking among their students.

The objective of this is to increase school teachers’ capacity as facilitators to implement STEAM based teaching strategies across the curriculum in Arts, Science, Math, English, and Social Studies. ISR teaching strategies are to increase student engagement through experiential learning modules and programmes that are designed on a sustainable ISR Framework 7Es and CRM. It is based on integrated teaching and learning of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics with the core based on bloom's taxonomy and 4Cs of the 21st century skills. It is designed to help teachers facilitate the holistic formation of students and developing them into lifelong learners and empower them with the capability to effectively and creatively apply their competencies to complex situations in their day to day life in a sustainable manner as well as be ready for future jobs.

In addition to the above, teachers and researchers who are interested in doing further research on STEAM education or Heutagogy will be provided space by ISR to publish their papers.
